The European Civil Justice Centre was inaugurated on 27 November 2025! The ECJC is a European hub for research, training, and policy dialogue on civil justice and procedural law. See also our LinkedIn post.

Director Xandra Kramer, co-director Stefaan Voet kicked and board member Anna Nylund kicked off, explaining background, mission and vision of the ECJC. Alan Uzelac followed with a thought-provoking keynote on Access, Trust, and Transformation in European Civil Justice. Panel I moderated by Ianika Tzankova offered perspectives on European, comparative and global justice and the transformation resulting from AI (Eva Storskrubb, Magdalena Tulibacka, Anna van Duin, Burkhard Hess). Advisory board member John Sorabji emphasized the importance of the ECJC in view of the current state of civil justice and the need for collaboration. Roundtable II, moderated by FRANCESCA FERRARI provided key insights into the challenges of and opportunities for delivering justice from a policy, consumer and lawyers’ market perspective (Alexandre Biard, Paulien M.M. van der Grinten, David Markworth, Christiaan Stokkermans).
